Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 3 Fuji apples
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/8 cup Golden raisins
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions

Instructions:

  • Prepare the Apples: Peel, core, and cut the apples into bite-sized chunks.
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the prepared apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the mixture starts bubbling.
  • Reduce the heat to low. Continue cooking, stirring often, until the apples have softened but still maintain some texture. This usually takes around 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Incorporate the raisins into the compote and simmer for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Remove the compote from heat. Serve it warm or hot. Cool any leftovers and store in the fridge for up to a week.
